SOC

Revision as of 22:03, 10 September 2008 by Wayne.eclipse.org (Talk | contribs) (Current (Ongoing) Projects)

The Eclipse SOC project is a great place to spend time learning, coding, participating and contributing. The project does not host specific resources for learning; it is mainly concerned with being a meeting place for students who are interested in working on or with Eclipse technology and need a little help through the process. We provide a vehicle to connect student activity with one or more mentors to assist you.

Please visit the SOC landing page.

Current (Ongoing) Projects

This can be a little confusing, so please bear with us. The SOC project and Google Summer of Code (GSoC) programme are separate things. Students participating in the GSoC can choose to host their work as part of this project if it makes sense to do so. Some students, for various reasons, choose to host their code in an "incubator" project that we've set up on Source Forge. The work of other students is hosted in other Eclipse Projects. Not all work done in the SOC project is done as part of the GSoC programme. The Eclipse IDE for Education (IDE4EDU), for example, is currently not part of any GSoC project (we do, however, anticipate that some work will be done on the IDE4EDU as part of future offerings of the GSoC programme).

The following projects are being developed using SOC project resources (CVS, Wiki, etc.).
