  • Project Leader Notes:
    • Tom is leaving the Aperi project for another project in IBM. This new assignment is full time and Tom will not be able to lead the Aperi Project. The Aperi project will need a new project lead to take over from Tom. Eclipse project manager is a voted position. Tom discussed with Bjorn a proposal to recommend Al Heitman for Aperi PM. Al has worked in IBM Storage SW/HW for 20 years and was one of the lead developers for original Aperi contribution. Al has been in Project Management for the last 1.5 years and has experience with the IBM product development process including the IBM internal open source approval process. This experience will help Al to do the Eclipse Open Source IP work as well which is part of the Aperi PM responsibilities. Dave and Todd indicated support for Al. Tom will put Al’s name forward to the committer team to vote on as the Aperi project lead. Tom thanked everyone for the last few years for the great work on the Aperi project.
