Talk:AMP/Systems Dynamics

In principle it is possible to simulate any system dynamics (sd) model using an agent based engine just by configuring the agents to behave like stock and flow constructs (numerical integration via action rules etc.). However from a modeller perspective it would be much easier to have a set of dynamic variables (stocks, flows and auxiliary variables) with the specific behaviour according to the rules of the sd paradigm. More over it would be desirable to have a specified toolbox to set up and configure sd models.

A possible way of integrating dynamic variables in the amp-architecture is shown by the picture below. This solution is motivated by experiences made with AnyLogic.
